First off, we would like to extend a Happy New Year to our fellow Xanadu and O.T.O. friends. Everyone's help last year was highly appreciated..2012 promises to be an interesting year. Plans are being made to offer Initiations sometime this Spring and Mass continues to be an ongoing event. We are also looking for input on possible future workshops, perhaps in our "Grimoire" series. So far, we've held workshops on the Solomon Magicks (Greater and Lesser Keys), Simon's Necronomicon, and even the Abramelin system. If anyone out there has any suggestions for another topic to attack, let us know. Other plans are being discussed, such as reprinting The Dead Souls Scrolls, and attempting to organize another road trip.

Next, our calendar has been updated for the first three months of 2012. Hard copies are being shipped and distributed in a few days time.

Lastly, a kind reminder to our members that we are now accepting local dues payments for 2012. Please contact our Treasurer if you have any questions or wish to make a payment.

The calendar has been changed to reflect our "Road Trip" as it will take place on August 27th. Plans are being hammered out to attend a Gnostic Mass at William Blake Lodge in Baltimore. Closed to non-OTO members, more info can be found on William Blake's calendar.

Congratulations go out to Brother D.L., Ignis Rex, and Elleanor W. on their recent Baptisms, which were held at our last Mass. Thanks also to our Mass team for helping out with the Baptisms.

7/17/11 e.v.

New dates have been posted to the online calendar. Hard copies are being printed this week and should be sent out by the weekend.

Due to the positive feedback from the last two Goetia workshops, we wanted to continue along the same line and will be holding a series of workshops based around various grimoires. The next one will be on Simon's Necronomicon. These are all "open" events, being open to the public. Those who are not members, but wish to attend, are instructed to contact our Oasis for more information.

The "Road Trip" listed for August is a tentative date. More information will be posted when the details can be hammered out.

Happy Thelemic Holy Days to all of our Brothers and Sisters!

New dates have been posted for the second quarter of 2011, with our next event being a Gnostic Mass. Please take note, that due to a scheduling error, we are changing the time slots for that particular Mass. Practice will begin at 1:00 with Mass starting at 3:00 p.m.. We will resume our regular time slots for Mass in May.

We are also offering a Minerval and First Degree Workshop. More of a discussion group and rehearsal, we hope to go over the symbolism associated with both of these O.T.O. Degrees. We are also offering another Goetia Workshop in June.

Speaking of Initiation Workshops, Thelesis Lodge is offering a similar event (going through several Degree's) on April 30th, with Tau Roncellin at 3:00 p.m.. This is sure to be an exciting affair. Contact Thelesis Lodge for more details at info@thelesis.org.

Oyez, Oyez, Oyez! Special congrats goes out to our newly made Minervals, Brothers Aaron, Danny and Sister Bertin, all of whom took their initiations on Feb 19th. This event was a very exciting one for us as we had a nice little batch of candidates, all of whom proved to be very intrigued and amused. Welcome to our Oasis!

Thanks to everyone who helped out with Minervals.

Congratulations also goes to Brother T.J., who took his First Degree this past Saturday. What a great time we had. Thanks to all of our team members for making this happen. Hat's off to Soror Blasphomet for all her hard work with the financial aspects as well as getting the feast together. Everyone pitched in afterwards to help clear the temple space and get our living room back in order. This was especially appreciated, so thanks to everyone for helping out with the physical labor <grin>.

Dates will be posted soon for Minerval and First Degree symbolism classes and/or discussion groups, sometime in the next quarter. We are also hoping to offer further Man of Earth events later this year, including possible initiations, for those who may be interested. Other dates will include Goetia and Thoth Deck workshops. Keep a Thelemic Eye out for calendar dates soon.

12/12/10 e.v.

A few preliminary dates have been added to the online calendar for the month of January. We are asking that if anyone wishes to attend the Incense Workshop, please let us know asap so we have enough supplies on hand to accommodate everyone.

We are also happy to announce that we will be making a public appearance at the New Age and Holistic Expo in Tamaqua PA. We only do this type of event once every few years and we've always found it a great way to network. Maybe we'll see some of you at the Expo.

Keep an eye out for more events to be scheduled.

Special thanks to Brother TJ for the use of his Temple space. We performed our last Mass there and it was perfect. TJ also filled in for Deacon for the first time and did a great job. It looks like we will be doing our next Mass there as well.

11/11/10 e.v.

Gnostic Mass for this weekend has been postponed due to illness. The next proposed date is Nov. 27th and the calendar has been changed to reflect this.

10/6/10 e.v.

New calendar dates have been posted for the next three months.

A special congratulations goes out to Sister Angela (Soror Blasphomet) as she received word that she was approved for her Initiation Charter by Grand Lodge U.S.A.. This is really good news for our local body as we now have two chartered Initiators. We also want to thank her for all of her hard work and dedication on several levels.

Thanks also to the folks at Celtic Myth and Moonlight. For a few years now, we have been distributing our calendar at this fine store. If you happen to visit the West Reading area, please stop in and check out their awesome line of Pagan and Magickal wares. Our community has been very blessed to have such a wonderful store in our midst. Please let them know you heard of them via Xanadu Oasis. You can find out more information like store hours and such at www.celticmythmoon.com.

Special thanks to those who attended last weekends Gnostic Mass.

Our friends at Thelesis Lodge are having an event which we highly recommend and of which some of us Xanadu members will be attending. Lon Milo DuQuette will be speaking as well as offering a book signing. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and rub elbows with one of the most amazing authors on Magick. For more info contact Thelesis Lodge.

Congratulations's to Frater Draco Malleus and Brother David, on taking their Second Degree at Thelesis Lodge on June 26th. Special thanks to Brother Howard and our dear friends at Thelesis for holding the event. We were bummed that we couldn't attend more on the following day, but a special shout out to those folks who took their Initiations on the 27th as well.

New dates have been added to the online calendar for the next quarter. Hard copies should be sent out this weekend.

A handful of news to add here...

First off, the incense workshop scheduled for June 12th is being postponed due to a conflict in scheduling. We are looking forward to giving a future update on this once another date for the event can be scheduled.

Next, we are happy to announce that Frater Draco Malleus (Dragon Hammer) has been appointed as our new Secretary. As someone who has helped us as an assistant secretary in the past, he formally accepted our invitation to the role of Officer a few weeks ago. As some of you may know, he has been Deaconing for us for a while, becoming our primary "Deacon in training" and doing a top-notch job at it. He has also been our primary “go to guy” when dealing with the website, techie help, etc... playing a huge role in banishing the gremlins from the machines. Preparing to take his Second Degree later this month, I'm assured that he's not biting off more than he can chew <grin>. It was only a natural progression to offer him the role if he was interested in it. We are happy he accepted it. Indeed, we look forward to working with him on this level and all Secretary mail will now be forwarded to him.

Another update is that we've added a new Web Page to our "Journal" tab. Since this is an O.T.O. "members only" section, those interested in gaining the password can request it from us. The same goes with other "passwords" to restricted areas.

Good news from Brother T.J.P., as he is now the proud father of a bouncing baby girl. Congratulations to him and Krista on this happy occasion. Yay!!!

Still working on a second "Oasis Art" page, which should be up and running soon. Again, look for more updates soon regarding these web pages, our calendar dates, and more.

3/27/10 e.v.

Advanced dates have been placed on our calendar. Hardcopy calendars are soon to come. We are expecting a few changes with the calendar, possibly adding an event or two. Keep posted for updates.

A special thanks to those individuals who attended our recent "Goetia Workshop". Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we hope that some questions were answered, perhaps even addressing some of the misconceptions about the Lesser Key and it's Magick. Although we probably won't be adding another Goetia Workshop in the next quarter, we're hoping to offer another one in July or August.

1/12/10 e.v.

The Calendar has been updated with new dates. Hardcopy calendars are being out later this week. Take note of the Goetia Workshop which we are proposing. Since this is our first time offering such an event, we're hoping to have this first meeting more as an open discussion. We hope to have similar "Evocations" down the road.

12/14/09 e.v.

Congratulations to our new Minervals, Brother Zob and Brother T.J., who received their initiations on Saturday. We wish to give them a warm hearty welcome into our Oasis. Special thanks to everyone who showed up to greet our Initiates and for their support and participation.

11/11/09 e.v.

A Fiscal meeting has been added to the calendar for the end of December.

Our Gallery has a new section, featuring the art of our Oasis Members. We are quite excited about this project and anyone who wishes to donate/submit material is welcomed to do so. It is a password protected area which means O.T.O. members only are to have access to the pages. Please contact us if you want the passwords. We plan on adding more pages with time.

To appease our non-members, another Crowley page is being added.

10/9/09 e.v.

New dates were added to the online calendar. Minerval Initiations have been scheduled for December. All candidates who have applications are instructed to get all paperwork to us a.s.a.p. The cut off date for Inititation Fees and paperwork is November 7th.

Hard copy calendars are being printed this weekend and should mailed out shortly.

8/6/09 e.v.

On Sept, 19th 2009, the "Witches Masked Ball" is being held this year at the Brook Country Club. Tickets can be purchased at Celtic Myth and Moonlight in West Reading, and cost $30.00 a seat. For more information, check it out www.witchesmaskedball.weebly.com

6/27/09 e.v.

New calendar dates have been posted for the next quarter and hard-copies will be sent out sometime this week.

Also, I would like to thank the folks at Thelesis Lodge, especially Brothers Brian and Sister April, for their help during yesterdays Mass at Thelesis Lodge. I was quite happy to participate by playing Priest. A shout out to Eric and Stephen for their help as "children" and to everyone who showed up.

For another plug, one may look into attending another event Tahuti Lodge is holding in September. The Musicka Mystica Maxima looks like it's going to be an awesome event. For more information, you can contact Tahuti Lodge, or feel free to write us here at Xanadu Oasis. We would be happy to forward more information if needed.

6/8/09 e.v.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform our local membership of a regional event which is being held at Tahuti Lodge in NYC. On July 25th, the Thelemic author, J.Daniel Gunther is giving his lecture "Mend Me This Shoe, That I May Walk, Finding The Fifth Power Of The Sphinx." Afterwards there will be a book signing. This looks like it's going to an interesting event as the author is a member of the A:.A:.. For more info, check out the official site...

One other plug... on June 27th, we will be attending Mass at Thelesis Lodge. If anyone is interesting in tagging along, let us know, as there may be space available in our vehicle(s).

As a last note, I'd like to thank Soror Blasphomet and Frater Dragonhammer for helping out with the Gnostic Mass this past weekend. We did take pictures, but alas, no action shots. Mainly just Temple photo's. Still, we hope to add them to the Mass Journal soon.
